SPUD Faculty Member Represents the Philippines at Smithsonian’s Fully Funded NESST 2025 Convening
DEC 02
St. Paul University Dumaguete recognizes Mr. Carl Joel Tilos of the Basic Education Department for participating in the fully funded NESST 2025 Convening (Network for Emergent Socio-Scientific Thinking), hosted by the Smithsonian Science Education Center in Washington, D.C., USA.
The Smithsonian Institution—the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex—brought together educators, youth ambassadors, and scientist ambassadors from the United States, Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Australia.
As a Smithsonian remote intern, Mr. Tilos served as the only Filipino and the only Asian member of the Agriculture Co-Creation Cohort, contributing to the development of the next global Science for Global Goals guide.
The SPUD Basic Education Department—previously recognized as a field-testing school for this international initiative—continues to support global STEM education through research, collaboration, and innovation.
