St. Paul University Dumaguete Attends HLU Conference and WURI Awards in Taiwan, Strengthening International Ties and Innovation Initiatives

SPUD proudly participated in the prestigious Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU) Conference and the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) Awarding Ceremony held at National Chi Nan University (NCNU) in Nantou County, Puli, Taiwan. Demonstrating its growing global reputation, SPUD was ranked Top 138 worldwide in the WURI rankings. The university was represented by Grace Alejado, MIT, Head of Planning, Development, and Quality Assurance (PDQA), and Erven Noay, MA-CDDS, MAEd, Head of External Affairs.
The event provided a vital platform for academic institutions worldwide to exchange ideas, showcase innovations, and forge strategic partnerships. During the conference, SPUD and NCNU formalized their collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), emphasizing their mutual commitment to academic excellence and development. Additionally, a Multi-Lateral MoU signing ceremony was conducted, involving multiple institutions aiming to foster collaborative research, faculty exchanges, and student mobility programs.
A highlight of SPUD’s participation was Mr. Erven Noay’s presentation titled "Illuminating Paulinian Identity: A Branding Initiative." He shared insights into an innovative branding project designed to elevate SPUD's image and reputation both locally and internationally. The initiative aims to strengthen the university’s identity as a vibrant community of learners rooted in the values of St. Paul and to boost its visibility in the global academic arena.
Mrs. Alejado expressed pride in representing SPUD at such a significant international gathering, emphasizing the importance of these collaborations in advancing the university’s mission and fostering innovation. “Being part of this global platform allows SPUD to showcase our commitment to academic excellence and innovative growth, which are vital in preparing our students for a competitive future,” she stated.
