SPUD Celebrates 121st Founding Anniversary with “Paul-Lamdag: Parade of Lights

St. Paul University Dumaguete (SPUD) marked its 121st Founding Anniversary on October 26, 2025, with a vibrant celebration titled “Paul-Lamdag: A Parade of Lights.”

The event featured students from various departments, including representatives from the Graduate School, who proudly showcased hand-held lamps and emblems—each symbolizing the unique identity and spirit of their respective academic units.

The parade was graced by SPUD alumni and accompanied by marching bands from several schools, adding color and festivity to the evening.

The procession began at the Statue of the Seven Paulinian Sisters along Rizal Boulevard and made its way toward the SPUD campus. Despite the rain, participants continued with enthusiasm and joy. Upon entering the campus grounds, attendees were warmly welcomed by the event hosts, setting a lively and celebratory atmosphere.

As the parade reached the university ballfield, the creatively designed lamps and emblems were formally judged. The following departments emerged as winners:

•Best Hand-Held Torch: College of Nursing (CON)

•Best Emblem: College of Business and Information Technology (CBIT)

• The Dazzling Detail Award: Graduate School

The Paul-Lamdag: Parade of Lights served as a meaningful highlight of the 121st Founding Anniversary celebration, reflecting the enduring Paulinian values of unity, faith, and excellence that continue to illuminate the university community.
