MAR 14
In a remarkable three-day showcase of research and innovation, from March 5-7, 2026, St. Paul University Dumaguete, in collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region VII, brought together researchers, educators, and innovators to explore how artificial intelligence is transforming education, society, and industry. The 3rd International Research Fair, themed “Revolutionizing Research and Innovation through Cutting-edge AI Technology,” featured hybrid participation from local and international experts, interactive panel discussions, and groundbreaking research presentations. CHED Regional Director Dr. Raul C. Alvarez, Jr. graced the opening, emphasizing the importance of advancing research quality and encouraging national academic development.
The first day introduced the fair’s intellectual agenda, with studies examining AI governance, digital innovation in education, youth resilience in the social media era, mobile-assisted physics experiments, QR-based library systems, critical thinking in AI discourse, and sustainable local entrepreneurship. Afternoon sessions further explored AI adoption in graduate mathematics education and the societal implications of emerging technologies, creating dynamic dialogue across disciplines.
Day 2 broadened the discussion with international perspectives on innovation and education, including mentorship in professional programs, accessible science experiments, agricultural management practices, teacher professional development, institutional capacity-building, and language policy in the Philippines. These sessions emphasized global collaboration, ethical research practices, and practical societal impact.
The final day highlighted graduate-level research, giving Paulinian graduate students a platform to present studies on AI integration, higher education innovation, social sciences, and applied community development. Spearheaded by the Graduate School, the presentations encouraged critical discussion, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration among participants, reinforcing SPU Dumaguete’s commitment to advanced scholarship.
Throughout the three-day event, participants engaged in interdisciplinary dialogue and collaborative inquiry, motivating both undergraduate and graduate students to pursue knowledge with curiosity, courage, and purpose while addressing the technological and societal challenges of the future.
