Stepping Up for Educational Excellence: SPUD Prepares for Transition to ISO 21001:2025!
OCT 01
St. Paul University Dumaguete (SPUD) successfully concluded an intensive, three-day ISO 19011:2026 Internal Quality Audit (IQA) Training and Workshop at the MAT Conference Room. The high-impact session served as the university's foundational groundwork in transitioning from ISO 21001:2018 to the newly enhanced ISO 21001:2025 Educational Organizations Management System (EOMS) standard.
This strategic milestone directly aligns SPUD’s operational framework with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reinforcing its commitment to global excellence. By upgrading to the ISO 21001:2025 standard, SPUD advances SDG 4: Quality Education by enhancing its learner-centric focus to ensure inclusive, equitable, and top-tier educational management. Furthermore, implementing rigorous internal audits under ISO 19011:2026 champions SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions by building systemic transparency, accountability, and robust governance. This proactive institutional upgrade also fulfills SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, strengthening SPUD's internal capacities to remain a highly credible global partner capable of collaborating effectively within international academic networks.
The workshop was facilitated by the renowned Engr. Angelica C. Fraginal, Managing Director of ACF Consultancy and Training Services. Known for her sharp expertise, she transformed the workshop into a highly interactive learning space, culminating in a rigorous and serious mock audit across selected university offices. The hands-on simulations pushed the IQA team to apply cutting-edge auditing principles, preparing them for higher compliance standards.
Adding a deep sense of purpose to the rigorous training, Sr. Mila Grace Silab, SPC, University President, graced the event to deliver an inspirational message. She expressed her profound gratitude to the Internal Quality Auditors, praising their unconditional dedication, their "love of SPUD," and their collective commitment to the Paulinian Mission.
As standards evolve, SPUD continues to sharpen its internal systems—ensuring its processes remain relevant, deeply inclusive, and completely responsive to the changing needs of its learners.
